Foundation Helps Support Fryeburg Robotics Team Trip to World Championships

Team Caesar - 20000Z from Fryeburg Academy.

Fryeburg Academy Robotics Team 20005Z, known as "Caesar," punched their ticket to the VEX Robotics World Championships after a standout performance at the Maine VEX State Robotics Championship, held in South Portland, Maine. It was a competitive weekend that brought together high school and middle school teams from across the state, all vying for the chance to advance to the sport's biggest stage.

For the students on Caesar, the qualification is the payoff of countless hours of designing, building, programming, and testing. Fryeburg Robotics Head Coach Dave Sartory couldn't hide his pride after the results came in.

"These kids have put in an incredible amount of work, and to see it pay off on such a big stage is just remarkable," said Sartory. "Qualifying for Worlds isn't something that happens by accident — it takes teamwork, creativity, and a lot of problem-solving under pressure. I couldn't be more proud of what this team has accomplished."

The VEX Robotics World Championship is one of the largest and most prestigious robotics competitions in the world. Held this April in St. Louis, Missouri, the event will bring together thousands of student competitors from across the globe, all showcasing the robots they've engineered and coded from scratch. Teams compete in a series of matches and skills challenges, with the top performers earning recognition and trophies on an international scale. For many students, Worlds represents the culmination of years of dedication to STEM and competitive robotics — and for Team Caesar, it will be their chance to represent Maine on that world stage.

The Chris Perry Foundation was pleased to help the support the team to defray travel costs to Worlds with a contribution of $2500 to the team.

“We are so appreciative of the Foundation’s support.” noted Mr. Sartory. “Their generous donation helps us immensely as our team of seven travels to Worlds.”
